Worship and Prayer


Dore Methodist Church holds a weekly service on Sundays at 10.30, and Holy Communion is included in this morning service once a month. All are welcome to join us for any of these services.

After Sunday morning services many people extend the time of fellowship by going through for a coffee in the church hall. Visitors are welcome. 



A Bible Discussion Group (known as the Focus Group) meets fortnightly. These friendly, supportive and informal meetings are held in the homes of members of the group whenever possible. Contact: Janet Barraclough.

The Monday Fellowship meets at the Church on alternate Mondays at 2.30 p.m.. There is a time of worship, followed by talks on a wide range of subjects. There are also occasional outings. This event used to be known as the Women's Fellowship, but it has been renamed to signify that men too are welcome. Joint Presidents: Rosemary Belbin and Margaret Maxfield. Secretary: Ann Oakes.


Church Life

Serving and Sharing


Church activities include a variety of informal meetings and social events.

Crafty Club meets alternate Mondays, 2-30p.m.-4 p.m. It is for those who enjoy making things. Meetings are very informal with knitting, embroidery, cup of tea and chat. Everyone is welcome.


Tuesday Group meets fortnightly at 7.30 p.m. with a varied and interesting programme of speakers. Ladies of all ages are welcome. Secretaries: June Monks, Janet Clitherow.



 Senior Citizens Luncheon Club. A warm welcome awaits elderly people every Wednesday, with coffee and lunch. Co-ordinator: Val Edwards






Tea, Talk and Tunes for Toddlers (4T's) Monday mornings 10.00-11.30 during Term time.

This is a toddlers singing group with children playing with toys for about half an hour and then sing  (with parents joining in) for 25 minutes, finishing with "I'm forever blowing bubbles", which they really enjoy! Then it's time for drinks and biscuits, with more play until 11-30 a.m. All pre-school ages are welcome, with babies from about 2 months to toddlers over 4. Parents, Grandparents and Carers bring their children and all enjoy making new friends. Cost £1-50 per family.


Men's Steak Night

Church members and guests meet at Joe and Dolores' on the third Tuesday of each month. Coordinator: David Heslop.

In addition to these church-based events, the Methodist Church Hall is used by various other local groups.



Dore Mercia Townswomen's Guild has a Social Studies Programme in Dore Methodist Church Hall on the 3rd Tuesday of the month at 9.30 a.m. for 10 a.m.

Dore Probus Club meets on the 2nd and 4th Thursdays of the month, 10.15 to noon.

Rainbows (ages 5-7) meet on Thursdays. Leader: Jo Jacques.

Blackamore Brownies (ages 7-10) meet on Thursdays Leader: Bethan Mason.

Dore Our local amenity society holds events in the Methodist Hall four times a year. Village Society
